The History of Bed Bug Management

I just received a copy of DR Michael Potter’s article named above. It is a very informative history lesson, which you can read at:

  1. Thanks for sharing this bed bug info. I am surprised that Alaska has bed bug problems being so cold. Would like to hear more about bed bugs in Alaska.

Ha ha. Well, you must remember they are grat hitchhikers, and since they live indoors, outside temps have very little to do with it. Keep up the good work down there.

Bedbugs seem to be everywhere and its put down to so much travel? anyone think this is the case.

my friend had bdbuegs becuase his cousin from brazil brought them when he viisited i slept over his house and in the morning found 4 or 5 bites on me. After i went home and took my clothes of at the door put them in a bag and then took a shower. *just in case* then when i went to bedi began to feel itch spots everywhere. But i don’t know if it’s because i have them or if its just me thinking about it. This had caused me to lose sleep the whole week. i havnt noticed any bites after i slept over.

It is not uncommon for “bites” to manifest well after they occur. This could be what you experienced. OR, as you referenced, it cold also be an emotional reaction -this too is not uncommon. It sounds like you handled the situation correctly, I am glad you did not introduce them to your home.
