Yard Service Status

Anticipated Start Times for Yard Services 2011

Soil Injection:

* This service usually begins when the snow is gone AND the frost has gone out of the ground. Keep in mind that while these conditions may apply to 90% of your yard, under the shade of the tree(s), the warm up is slower. To facilitate the large number of faithful customers we have, we attempt to start in areas of town most cumulatively ready (beginning with those who require no pre-notification). The time frame for this service is really quite wide, so please do not panic if we are not at your home or office as early as we may be at others.

Spruce Bark Beetle:

* This service begins when the snow is gone from around all trees that we will spray. Even if the trees are accessible, we are concerned about any potential for runoff if our overspray collects on snow which is yet to melt and flow. While this is the most time sensitive of our spring applications, we have until the ambient temperature AT THE BASE OF INFESTED TREES reaches and maintains a temperature of 61 degrees Fahrenheit for several hours. Remember, this is the trees where the adults are ready to emerge, not your trees which have not yet been infested. If we have an early temperature rise, we still have a week or so to apply the chemical satisfactorily.

Start Date Anticipated: April 20

Foliar Spray:

* Our preference here is to wait until the particular pest you are concerned about begins to appear. This is very difficult to predict, and so we need you to watch your trees and shrubs and let us know at the first sign of activity. If we have data to indicate the activity is beginning, we will come (if you allow us) and spray when that occurs. Since this application covers a wide range of pests, we will try to list the pest species we are targeting on this page.

This is the year that we also need spraying around the house, deck, and whatever else you normally spray for carpenter ants. Please call at 345-2925 to arrange for this with us. Thank You, Sharon Sossamon

I said in my order that I wanted a call first, and I would like one, but it can be just an hour prior. I have someone putting my dog out while I am at work and she needs to know not to let him out after you have come. Thanks!

I have noticed a few carpenter ants, do you think we should have spraying done also?
